Two weeks on in London town
it's happening again
How could this have happened and
when will it ever end?
Disruption of a city in
the hope to bring it down,
But they forget they've been through worse
in this old-fashioned town.
Detonated blasts have plunged
the Tube into chaos
Three trains were disrupted
and a Number 26 bus.
Just minor explosions
but it's really all the same,
Remote or timed or detonated
they're still designed to maim.
Such a senseless notion
how could our fellow man
Seek to kill each other,
I just don't understand.
How can instilling terror
ever hope to achieve
Anything but heartache
within the scars they leave?
Two weeks on in London town
a city now unites
Once again they'll find the strength
together they will fight;
For terror does not take away
a moment, but begins
To build a stronger unity
of people's hearts within.
"Two weeks to the day after 56 people were killed in the horrific terrorist bombings in London on 7th July, four more blasts were reported and confirmed in East London suspending services on three underground lines and another bus. Thankfully there were no casualties, though the one man who was injured was said to be holding a rucksack containing one of the detonators. Apparently last I heard, two men had been detained near Downing Street." (4.30pm GMT; 5.30pm London; 2.30am Sydney)
