The breathless silent whisper
twisted like a knife
Words that cut deep through the heart
between husband and wife ~
Reverberating echoes
shatter them within
But neither will dare to admit
nor will they give in.
It almost seems unreal
that once upon a time
In a cloud of promises
within their arms entwined ~
Vows made to each other
to honour and protect,
Are the same two who are hurling
words of disrespect.
What has become of marriage,
a sacred unity
That mankind now has spoilt
through all iniquities ~
What was made to be beautiful
we've chosen to pervert
And despite love for each other
we still whisper words that hurt.
